The Picture of William Scott
This is my first post. I am going to write about my ancestor.
The picture of Willim Scott was probably taken in St. Johnsbury. A new recruit in the Civil War could get his 'likeness' taken by a daguerrian artist. The cost for the likeness was pricey for those times. A daguerrian would cost about $5-8.
I wonder why he is wearing an oversized glove so prominently against his chest?
